The sixth edition of Callaway Golf’s X-Series irons is now available. The clubs are reportedly shipping three months ahead of their traditional January introduction and may be an attempt to bolster the company’s fourth quarter sales.

Callaway also plans to launch its new FT-iQ driver next month, which it has to be hope will boost  its Q4 sales.

The X-22 irons, which carry a suggested retail price of $699 (steel) and $899 (graphite) feature what Callaway says is precise allocation of discretionary weight around the club head for a 10 percent higher Moment of Inertia (MOI) than the X-20 irons to resist twisting on off-center hits; 360-degree Undercut technology that Callaway says moves weight away from the club face to optimize the center of gravity (CG) location; and modified Tru-Bore technology with a polycarbonate tip plug that dampens vibrations for enhanced feel.
