If you are looking to break into a professional golf career or secure any of the many golf jobs available in the industry, you will want to have a good handle of the basics of the game. This requires a sound knowledge of the rules and etiquette of the game. It also doesn’t hurt to be a decent golfer, with a thirst to always improve. This will keep you fresh, and “in the game”, so to speak.

One of the best ways to become a better golfer is to focus on improving your golf swing. Anyone who is serious about their golfing game, whether fresh from a golf school or a person on the pro track with a professional golf career will tell you that your golf swing can always be improved upon. You have probably read all the normal tips before, but here are a few more basic thoughts and reminders to keep in mind and help you keep on trucking down the road to a better, more confident golf swing.

1. Appeal to those with an actual golf education.
Next time you are out on the green, put your ear to the ground, as it were, and see if you can find anyone who has been to an actual golf college or golf academy. If you can find former students who have attended and completed a formal education on the sport, they may be able to give you some valuable pointers that they picked up in their schooling.

2. Be yourself
Remember, golf is an individual sport. Sure the basics are in place for everyone to share, but the way you refine and define your game is going to depend on you and your individuality. Therefore you will always have to have your body adapt in certain ways so as to perform a golf swing that is your own. You can model after other people, but you do not want to get so stuck in the mindset of emulating them that you overlook the fact that you are a different person, and will require some different modifications to your swing.

3. Focus on your position and posture
If you want to see an immediate improvement to your golf swing and consequently your overall game, one of the first and foremost and most basic things you can do is remember to keep your head still and your eyes on the ball. Look at it straight on; your head in line with your spine, nose raised up a little in such a way that your left shoulder fits under your chin. Often times players will mistakenly tuck their chins into their chests to try to keep their head still and gazing directly down onto the ball, but this prevents them from doing a proper swing. It sounds like such a simple adjustment, but try it. It really works.

4. Practice
It was true in elementary school when you picked up the trumpet, and it is true still to this day no matter what you choose to do for fun or hobby. Practice makes perfect. Though you can never be perfect, as even those with a professional golf career <http://www.facebook.com/note_redirect.php?note_id=374821258588&h=c8fd0043d80d54c216f3221bfee0ccf0&url=http%3A%2F%2Fcollegeofgolf.keiseruniversity.edu%2Fcareers-golf.php> can’t be, you can come darn close. Set up a net in your backyard and go out and diligently practice your swing for about 25 times in a row every day. You’ll be a better golfer and primed for your pick of golf jobs in no time.
